Oakhurst is located in the southwest section of the City of Decatur. It has a small town atmosphere and yet is very close to downtown Decatur and downtown Atlanta. The community offers parks, recreation facilities, shops, bars and restaurants. There are several events that take place in the neighborhood ….Jazz nights, neighborhood picnics, blues festival and arts festival.

The houses in Oakhurst are mostly 1920 style bungalows with wonderful front porches and also some new construction homes in the area.  There are also a few townhome complexes that have been built in the last few years.  An example of homes and prices in the area …a new construction 5 bedroom/4 bath home is priced at $739,900. It is a 2 story home with double porches, hardwood floors, fireplace, extensive moldings, high ceilings, large kitchen with granite, beautiful master suite and across from a park. Another example is a 2 bedroom/2 bath 1920’s craftsman bungalow with large front porch, 3 fireplaces, renovated baths, large kitchen on large lot for $315,000. Then there is a fixer upper in the neighborhood for sale for $180,000…it needs extensive renovations.  

Oakhurst is a wonderful neighborhood and a wonderful place to live!
